BRING BACK THE HEROES

Category: News Published on: 10-Nov-2020

Kuwait Cricket board is planning an exciting festival league titled #bringbacktheheroes for all those players who have represented Kuwait at a national or international level since I996 and are no longer pursing international cricket for Kuwait. Kuwait Cricket was formed in 1996 under the Presidency of Sheikh Dari Fahad Al Ahmad Al Sabah in association with the Kuwait Olympic Committee. The current President, Haider Abbas Farman was the General Secretary during that period. The league will take place in the month of February (2021) during the National & Liberation holidays of Kuwait on the turf wickets of Sulaibiya Cricket Ground. ????????????????????????????????????????

The league will also consist of the 20 contracted national players of Kuwait for the year 2021  who will be titled #champions and the format will allow them to mix with the experienced campaigners titled #heroes and learn from the best that Kuwait has produced over the past two decades of its membership with the ICC - International Cricket Council & ACC - Asian Cricket Council.

For the former heroes of the game, it will be a great opportunity to come together after decades of friendship on and off the field and contribute towards the development of the game of cricket in kuwait by teaching the youth the different skills of the game, discipline, hard-work and what it takes to play at the highest level of international cricket.

In the process, some of the former players and heroes of kuwait cricket will also have an opportunity (limited slots) to take up ICC & KCC match official as well as coaching courses and venture into a different career altogether or at the very least, keep the hobby and passion alive

Kuwait Cricket Board invites all the former players for a meeting in Olympic Council of Asia Building in Samliya on the 21st of November at 7:30PM to go down the memory lane and plan this memorable league together
